A bit about us

Hi, we’re Alice and Garland.

This blog has been a place to share adventures, but we’re taking it to a whole new level. For the next season of life, we’re leaving dry land to travel along America’s Great Loop – a 6,000-mile circumnavigation of the United States.

what’s the great loop?

We plan to leave Florida in 2026 by boat to travel up the ICW to NYC. Then we will go north up the Hudson River until we reach Canada and the St. Lawrence Seaway. We will travel upriver until we reach Lake Ontario. Then we will go through the Trent Severn Canal System into Georgian Bay. Then we will enjoy traveling through the Great Lakes. Finally, we will make our way back south along the inland rivers until we arrive back on America’s Gulf Coast.
