5 websites I couldn’t live without during COVID-19
I never imagined at the start of 2020 that just keeping my home supplied with toilet paper would be a challenge. These are the 5 websites I couldn’t live without during COVID-19. But first, let me take you back to the beginning.
In March of 2020, we were at the airport in NYC waiting for a flight home. What began as a family vacation was turning into an evacuation. My youngest son called me from home and told me he couldn’t find any toilet paper in the stores. I immediately went onto my Amazon app and realized toilet paper had vanished there, too. It was at that moment….panicking over how we would get by (there were only 4 rolls at home)…that I realized something was changing. I managed to order some RV toilet paper from Amazon just as the plane was taxiing. Immediately I realized the need to start thinking outside the box in order to stay provisioned for whatever was coming.
(*NOTE: None of these companies paid me to review their products. I am actually a customer.)
It started with toilet paper
As soon as we landed, I knew the first thing I would need to find was toilet paper. Honestly, I had never given this a thought before. As I searched frantically online, none of my regular places had any in stock. But a internet search helped me find Who Gives a Crap: toilet paper that builds toilets. With a “cheeky” name like this one, I immediately took a look. This company uses bamboo, which is sustainable and 50% of profits are used to build toilets. It’s a win-win. My family actually likes this toilet paper better than our old brands. Subscriptions are available so we never run out. And just FYI, they also make paper towels and tissue boxes.
